Summer, a time when the office becomes a battleground between those who want to keep the temperature at tropical conditions and those who want to turn it into an icy tundra with the air-con on 24/7. In this article we will be talking about Team Building for Large Teams.
Get The Team Out of the Office
However, one thing that most of the office can agree on is summer events out in the glorious sunshine are always a highlight of the working week. Seeing as last summer had over 60 days of non-stop sunshine, being able to take your team out for the day and get them to bond together, spend time working as one and ultimately having an enjoyable day should be part of every office’s plan.
If you work in an office that has over 100 members of staff, this is not always an easy thing to undertake. It can be a logistical nightmare and finding an event that caters for the wide variety of personalities can be frustrating. So taking all of this into consideration, we thought it would be a good idea to show you two of our most popular events for teams with triple figure workers that will help team cohesion, create togetherness and get everyone involved.
It’s a Knockout
Those of you of a certain age will remember It’s a Knockout from years ago. This fast paced, action packed team event will have you battling your way through crazy costumes, huge inflatables, slippery slides, wacky races and enough foam to fill a pool. It’s a Knockout is team building at its biggest and best! Expect lots of cheering, laughter and competition as teams go head to head in this ultimate exciting challenge.
Brains, Brawn and Teamwork
This large scale outdoors event is perfect for multiple teams and will require brains, brawn, teamwork, communication and a will to win. So if you have a real mix of staff, there is going to be a section of this crazy foam-fest that will suit them perfectly.
Don’t be fooled into thinking it will be all physical though, there are several games that will require mental skills and challenge those among your staff who enjoy a good crossword puzzle!
For those of your staff who live for competition, this is the perfect event for them to try their hand at a different type of competitive challenge. Watch them try inflatable horse racing and the wacky assault course. Nobody can keep a straight face when you see colleagues trying to knock each other off a podium with soft-play cudgels (think Gladiator’s Duel)
Check out the video below to see some of the challenges in action.
Multi-Activity Day
If It’s a Knockout sounds a bit too high intensity for your team (or you really don’t like the thought of seeing Maggie from accounting battling her way through a giant foam-filled washing machine) then our Multi-Activity Day is the event for you.
This series of events is completely bespoke to you as you can choose from a wide range of different activities to build your perfect programme. Below are just some of the options you can chose from.
Multi-Activity Day Can include:
- Archery
- Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting
- Duck Herding
- Crossbows
- Segways
- Air Rifle Shooting
- Axe Throwing
- Blind 4×4 Driving
- Hovercrafts
This will give your teams the chance for everyone to get involved and for those who may not be so keen on the more physical aspects of the events to come into their own. Maybe you have someone with a hidden talent for Duck Herding or one of the sales floor who’s a dead-eye with a rifle. There really is something for everyone in the Multi-Activity day.
Benefits Aplenty
Having your team compete against other colleagues, bond with their own team and enjoy the chance to mix with those they may not work with day-to-day are all benefits of these events that you may not even realise.
Multiple studies show that team building activities can increase team-performance, cohesion and create a strong, more mutually benefice working environment. Of course, it also gives your team a well-deserved chance for bonding outside the office in the fresh air. Getting outside in the fresh air has been proven to have a positive effect on people’s mental health too.
Whatever you decide to do with your team though, getting outside in the summer months and helping create a high-performing workforce will always pay dividends and ensure your workforce feel valued and rewarded by yourselves.
