Take a trip down a long, green, leafy Cheshire driveway and you’ll be greeted with a grand building surrounded by beautifully manicured spaces and golf courses.

Mottram Hall sits on 270 acres of grounds and is a little gem. The venue has a whole host of different spaces to host corporate events and team-building experiences.

Kate and Lizzy from the Right Angle team were lucky enough to explore the whole venue, seeking out great spaces, eyeing up terraces and sampling the delicious the Estate’s AA Rosette-awarded restaurant.

It is important we experience exactly what a delegate would get, ensuring we can recommend the best spaces for our client’s events and be able to speak from experience.

We visited in July 2019, the venue is about to undergo a £10mil renovation, mainly focusing on the spa (becoming a Champneys), new reception area and refresh of the conference hub. Mottram Hall is already stunning, and this will only build on the current facilities!

The Bedrooms

For those clients and guests wanting to spend more than just 8 hours, Mottram offers a range of different bedrooms. From the large suites complete with baths and sofas to their standard rooms. The décor is tame and unobtrusive, and the bedding was extremely comfortable (always a bonus!).

The Food
The food at Mottram Hall was absolutely outstanding, and there are several different places to eat (Carrington Grill, Champagne Bar & The Claret Jug). This is ideal for events that are several days long, so you don’t get bored with the same food in the same places. The Carrington Grill has recently been awarded two AA Rosette, the menu was small, but interesting, and was outstanding.

The Claret Jug has a wooden lodge vibe, and great for Christmas Events or more intimate dining.

The Event Spaces

There is a real mix of event space at Mottram. The Garden Room in the main hotel has floor to ceiling windows and opens out onto lawns and a terrace that is perfect for team building (think duck herding or Crystal Challenge!) and is also lovely for dinners.

There is a conference hub which has more traditional conference rooms, with several smaller rooms great for breakout spaces or more intimate, smaller meetings.

Finally, the wonderful St Andrews Suite, which has a light and airy breakout space just outside the room is great for up to 180 guests and is bright and fresh.

The overall feel of the venue is friendly, the staff were very helpful, but the real highlights are the St Andrews Suite and the out of this world food.

In terms of team building activities at Mottram Hall, the abundance of space and great indoor areas means almost any activity would work here, from The Killing, It’s A Knockout to Soap Box Derby.
