Afternoon Event – Wellington College
Looking for a team activity that encourages colleagues who don’t work together normally to interact and come together.
The Solution
Morning Session 1 – Group 1 Cracked It! & Group 2 Samba Drumming
Afternoon Session 2 – Group 2 Cracked It! & Group 1 Samba Drumming
What happens when you take over 200 participants, get them all hyped up with a round of Samba Drumming then lock them in ‘jail’ and see if they can escape? Well, thankfully Silva Homes were more than up for the challenge to see if they had what it takes to defeat Cracked It!

We caught up with Will Vallins, Silva Homes Digital Communications Officer, to answer our 60-second review on the event and tell us a bit more about the highlights of the day.
Why did you consider a team event in the first place?
Every year, we hold a colleague conference, where all 230 of our colleagues get together for a day off-site. We wanted to incorporate some fun activities to give people the opportunity to work with those colleagues who they don’t often see.
Why did you choose these events in particular?
We chose to do Cracked It and Samba Drumming as we felt these two activities would complement each other well and provide different experiences. They were also very affordable for us and fit our budget – great value for money!
What was the very best bit of your event?
While both activities were great, we thought that samba drumming was especially good! The guys who ran the session were fantastic and managed to get some of our less musical colleagues involved. It left everyone feeling excited and energised.
The Cracked It team were also great, giving us just the right amount of support, which contributed to our enjoyment of the activity.
How did the team respond to the event?
The Right Angle team were great at getting everyone involved. There have been so many positive comments about the conference – our colleagues really enjoyed it!
Any advice you would give to people wanting to do something similar?
We ran our activities in two parts due to us having a fairly large group. It worked well in that we had half of the business do one activity in the morning, then a break for lunch, before switching over in the afternoon. It really helped that the two activities were different, as it felt like we had something for everyone.
Anything else you’d like to add?
We would like to say a massive thank you to our account manager, Daisy, and everyone involved with running our event! Daisy was great at making sure everything was organised and her communication with us was brilliant- at no point were we worried that things might go wrong.
