We’ve done a roundup of The 5 Top Cambridge Venues and the best team building activities to host them in!
Cambridge is without a doubt one of the best places in the UK to host events. It is well connected to London, has an absolutely wealth of amazing venues to choose from as well as being seeped in history.
Downing College
A little gem in the middle of Cambridge. Often described as the oldest of the new colleges and newest of the old! This venue has some great outside space, something of a rarity in Cambridge town centre. This space is very versatile and is just perfect for our Crystal Challenge.
The indoor event space work well and can cater for numbers up to 100 to 160 depending on the layout, this is just perfect for either our awarding winning activity The Killing or perhaps VR Team Building , where the teams can make use of the beautiful back drop.
The Tamburlaine Hotel
This is one of the new “kids on the block” for Cambridge venues – perfectly placed for guests travelling up from London as next door to the railway station.
It has a lovely courtyard just perfect for a drinks reception especially for delegates who want to take part in an outdoor cocktail making activity!
The Garden Room give a beautiful backdrop to any event, our personal favourite would be Bake That! All the excitement of the tv show, without the cameras or Noel Fielding!
The event space is lovely, it can cater for groups up to 144 depending on the layout but equally for small and intimate team events, our activity The Detective Experience is fantastic, giving the delegates a chance to get out and about around Cambridge, see the local area and solve the crime!
Hotel Du Vin
Why is this one a favourite with the team at Right Angle? There are quite a few reasons!
It’s situated about a 5 minute walk from the centre of Cambridge and 15 min walk from the train station, very easy to find. It’s a beautiful Grade II listed building and has lots of nooks and crannies!
A venue perfect for smaller teams with 2 event rooms, The Lombard suitable for up to 24 delegates and The Common Room, perfect for up to 8 delegates. Our suggested activities for this venue would be A No Ordinary quiz which is exactly that! Great fun and a brilliant activity for smaller teams.
The other activity we would thoroughly recommend would be a Crime and Dine – a CSI team building activity held over dinner!
Homerton College
This venue has a complete gem of a room – The Great Hall – especially if you fancy a “Hogwarts” type of event!
This is an American, Gothic style and still has the medieval feel too. This room can cater for up to 260 delegates depending on the layout. Just perfect for a themed dinner.
The other plus for this room, it has its own bar for functions and parties, so you don’t have to worry about your guest wondering off! The other event spaces are very versatile and have all the modern up to date technology needed for today’s meetings.
The outside space is huge and lends its self perfectly for our activity The Bodyguard!
The Møller Centre
This is a lovely modern conference facility and with some great and HUGE outside space too
It has meeting rooms that can cater for groups from 2 to 140 and has 92 4 star en suite bedrooms too.
The outside space is just perfect for a brilliant and lively it’s a Knockout type of event, where you need lots of space for the teams. Another favourite for the Right Angle team would be our Multi-Activity Team Event to include Archery and Laser Clays for instance. We have had clients complete a Duck herding challenge too!
